Celery is frost-hardy, light-demanding, hydrophilic plant. It loves alluvial and loamy sandy soil. Best predecessors are cucumbers, spinach and onion. Celery is seedlings culture and its seeds have tough cover and essential oils which prevent them from shooting. 15 grammes per decare are necessary for seedlings. It is sown February-May or August-November and harvested April-October.
